NEWEST FILM ENTERED IN FILM FESTIVALS

Mediocre Masterpiece is the story of “A mediocre artist attempting to paint his masterpiece, without letting his girlfriend’s aspirations get in his way.” The film has been entered in several film festivals and we await their reply. Any accepted entries and subsequent dates, times, etc. will be posted on this page. Due to requirements of the festivals we cannot post the films on the internet prior to the festivals’ premiere. However, we can post this “Behind the Scenes” featurette:

MEDIOCRE MASTERPIECE ACCEPTED INTO FILM FEST

Mediocre Masterpiece, our newest short film has been accepted into the 17th annual San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF)! The festival is to be held between March 11-21 at the Hazard Center Ultrastar Cinema here in sunny San Diego. The specific date that we will be on the big screen is March 17 at 6:30pm but check back here for an update on additional screenings and our other upcoming festival entries. YOUTUBE PROJECT:REPORT

YouTube recently ran an online competition, Project:Report asking users to submit short videos concerning important topics NOT being covered by traditional media. Two of our founders, Patrick Aviles and Robert Knauf made an initial short documentary on a local recycling icon, Santos Camacho and were chosen to be one of the top ten videos as decided by voting. These top ten semi-finalists won a brand new camera and laptop in addition to being eligible for the grand prize: a $10,000 grant from the Pulitzer foundation. The videos are below BUT they need your votes. VOTING CLOSES APRIL 18th!

A recent directorial work of Dexter’s was posted online. The piece is from the play, Eastern Standard and is the climatic moment in the play where a would-be lover is confronted by an acquaintance who’s been dismissed one too many times. Great writing, inspired acting, and all around a fantastic scene. Enjoy!

San Diego State University recently chose one of our own as their new Aztec Warrior. Dexter Gareau will be donning the Warrior uniform for upcoming SDSU Football and Men’s Basketball game. Watch the montage of recent news footage:


FATAL FETISH BEGINS THE FILM FESTIVAL CIRCUIT!

Our most ambitious project to date, Fatal Fetish, a 6 min short film about a pair of lawyers and a fetish that could ruin everything they’ve build, is now finished post-production. The film was shot on 16mm film-stock and principal photography took place in May. We’ve submitted to the San Diego Film Fest and several other prominent festivals. Keep an eye out for upcoming film festival dates!
